The perfect car cover for inclement days is a fitted, twin sized, plastic/vinyl mattress cover. If you get a clear one, you can write your name on the underneath side in indelible ink so that it shows through. Some kids like to decorate them. These are relatively inexpensive and the fitted ends fit snugly around the ends of the car and will stretch around the spindles - but be careful when removing it because the wheel pins will snag and rip the cover. They also fold up much smaller than a typical plastic tarp. When you race in Oregon and Washington, you learn about such things.
