Two Car Simultaneous Start without Starting Traps:

If you go to the track to do some test driving with two cars and don't have the starting traps but, would like both cars to start at the same time...

Build two blocks shaped like 1/2 of a derby tire. Install some old derby brake pad on the bottom of them. Attach a continuous piece of rope to both of them.

Roll the cars on them (Put them under the rear tires) and when you are ready to go just yank the rope and pull the blocks towards you and they will leave the starting gate at the same time.
